Located in Qianxi County, Guizhou Province, the Water West Grand Theater stands as one of the key projects in the province. This theater combines the fine qualities of traditional theaters with the adaptability to meet modern demands, serving as a professional opera house while accommodating natural sound performances and theatrical shows. To ensure impeccable acoustics, acoustic design has been an integral part of the project, starting from the conceptual phase and continuing throughout the design, construction, and testing phases, resulting in exceptional sound quality.For the acoustic design of this project, premium sound-absorbing materials have been utilized, including flame-retardant slotted wooden absorption panels and large-format soft-pack absorbers.
The flame-retardant slotted wooden absorption panels are designed with slits on the front surface and perforations on the back, creating a narrow resonance sound-absorbing material. These slotted wooden panels exhibit strong selectivity in absorbing sound frequencies and perform excellently in the mid to low-frequency range. By filling an appropriate amount of sound-absorbing cotton into the cavity behind the sound-absorbing structure, the mid and high-frequency absorption effect can be further enhanced. Featuring standardized modular design and employing slotted and keel structures, these panels are easy to install and are commonly used for wall or ceiling decoration.
The slotted wooden absorption panels offer a wide range of choices in terms of surface colors and material options, catering to diverse acoustic and decorative needs of clients. They are suitable for venues with strict acoustic requirements, including opera houses, cinemas, recording studios, radio studios, broadcasting studios, TV stations, business offices, multi-functional halls, conference rooms, broadcasting halls, music halls, auditoriums, and sports arenas.
Following the professional acoustic design, the Water West Grand Theater has achieved remarkable acoustic results. To date, the theater has successfully hosted numerous large-scale music events and various other grand activities. Notable events include the Qianxi County New Year's Gala, the Qianxi County 2019 New Year Symphony Concert, and the 17th People's Congress of Qianxi County, among others. The theater stands as a testament to acoustic excellence, offering an exceptional venue for artistic performances and captivating the hearts of audiences from all walks of life.
