While modest in size, this arena faced a common challenge - excessive reverberation due to its substantial volume. Prolonged reverberation times often compromise sound clarity within the venue, leaving audiences with a muddled auditory experience and affecting the overall impact and reputation of sporting events. For athletes, suboptimal acoustics can detrimentally impact their performance.
Additionally, prolonged reverberation times can lead to feedback issues with sound reinforcement systems. The parallel walls and overly generous free sound path in the competition pool area exacerbate problems with flutter echoes and multiple reflections, intensifying the sounds of athletes' movements and collisions to an undesirable cacophony.
To address these challenges, we implemented an acoustic design solution that includes top-quality acoustic materials, notably the Red Magnesite Perforated Acoustic Panel and the Flat Panel Acoustic Absorber.
The Red Magnesite Perforated Acoustic Panel boasts inherent advantages over traditional wooden acoustic panels. With a base material of magnesite oxide, it exhibits exceptional moisture resistance, mitigating issues of mold and deformation. This makes it particularly suitable for regions with high rainfall, where conventional wooden panels fall short. Moreover, it boasts an A2 fire rating, a feat unattainable by wooden counterparts.
The Flat Panel Acoustic Absorber is constructed from premium fiberglass cotton, customized aluminum frames, and sound-absorbing, dust-resistant fiberglass cloth. It offers superior environmental protection, fire resistance (A2 rating), and remarkable sound-absorbing capabilities. With a wide array of finish colors and material choices, it caters to diverse acoustic and aesthetic needs.
