Located in the northeastern corner of Nanshan Houhai Central District, adjacent to Hong Kong, the Shenzhen Bay Sports Center spans an impressive area of approximately 720 meters in length and 430 meters in width. Covering a total land area of 300,000 square meters and boasting a total construction area of 335,000 square meters, this iconic facility represents a significant investment of around 2.3 billion yuan. The complex includes a sports stadium, gymnasium, swimming pool, athlete reception center, public fitness facilities, and commercial amenities, jointly completed by Beijing Institute of Architectural Design and Beijing Institute of Architectural Design Co., Ltd.
The basketball venue at Shenzhen Bay Sports Center features an innovative matrix-based spatial sound absorption solution. Designed with a three-dimensional structure, this matrix-based solution surpasses traditional two-dimensional sound absorption structures by increasing the sound absorption area and enhancing the sound absorption coefficient. It effectively improves the reverberation time within the stadium, ensuring optimal acoustic performance.
Considering the construction process standards and installation timeline of the project, an easy-to-install suspension system was employed, minimizing construction and installation time while reducing costs without compromising on aesthetics.
The Shenzhen Bay Sports Center showcases its commitment to providing exceptional acoustic performance through the integration of a matrix-based sound absorption solution in the basketball venue. This innovative approach not only enhances the overall experience for spectators and athletes but also demonstrates the center's dedication to creating a state-of-the-art sporting facility.
