Located at the northeastern corner of Nanshan Houhai Central District, adjacent to Hong Kong, Shenzhen Bay Sports Center spans an impressive 720 meters in length and 430 meters in width. With a sprawling area of 300,000 square meters and a total construction area of 335,000 square meters, this magnificent complex boasts a significant investment of approximately 2.3 billion yuan. It comprises a stadium, sports arena, swimming pool, athlete reception center, public fitness facilities, and commercial amenities, jointly completed by Beijing Institute of Architectural Design and Beijing Institute of Architectural Design Co., Ltd.
Highlighting the basketball venue, the innovative acoustic design features a matrix-style spatial sound absorption system. The three-dimensional structure of the matrix sound absorption system surpasses traditional two-dimensional structures by increasing the sound absorption surface area and enhancing the sound absorption coefficient. This scientific approach effectively improves the reverberation time within the venue. Considering construction standards and installation timeframes, an easy-installation suspended system was employed, minimizing installation time and reducing construction costs while ensuring aesthetic appeal.
