As part of its development plans, Guangya Middle School is embarking on the construction of a state-of-the-art multi-functional indoor gymnasium, covering an expansive area of over 2,000 square meters. This versatile facility will seamlessly integrate various functions such as sports, performances, entertainment, and fitness. It will feature two standard basketball courts and a spacious stage, making it suitable for conferences and captivating entertainment performances. The acoustic design of the gymnasium has been meticulously planned to achieve a mid-frequency reverberation time of 1.5 ± 0.1 seconds throughout the entire venue, aligning with its intended purpose.



Considering the vast spac
e and ample natural light that sports venues typically entail, the acoustic design has placed significant emphasis on enhancing sound absorption treatment for the existing ceiling grid structure. By employing space sound-absorbing materials with exceptional sound absorption coefficients, the design effectively regulates the reverberation time while reducing the load-bearing demands on the original ceiling grid.

Thanks to the implementation of scientific and meticulous construction and installation techniques, the construction team has successfully realized the intended design. During the acoustic acceptance test, the mid-frequency reverberation time was measured at RT=1.53 seconds, meeting the stringent design requirements. The completed project has been met with high praise from both teachers and students, as it fulfills the school's needs and creates optimal conditions for sporting events, performances, and various other activities.
