Harmonizing Eco-Design: A Sonic Showcase at the World Ecological Design Conference

In the heart of Liangkou Town, nestled within the eco-design haven of Guangzhou Conghua Ecological Design Town, the inaugural World Ecological Design Conference unfolded from December 13th to 15th, 2018. Carrying the theme "Designing Ecologies, Cultivating Hope," this groundbreaking event found a permanent home in this picturesque town.

The conference's central hub, the main hall, emerged as a powerhouse for hosting significant gatherings, seamlessly integrating simultaneous interpretation capabilities. With a ceiling adorned by a lattice framework, brick walls, and generous windows, the 1510㎡ venue, post-decoration, soared to an impressive 16m in height, encapsulating a voluminous 24160m³ of space. The design brief demanded optimal acoustics—ample volume, crystal-clear clarity, uniformity throughout, richness, warmth, and freedom from echo disruptions.

For the acoustic transformation of the main hall at the World Ecological Design Conference, a selection of premium sound-absorbing materials was employed, including spatial acoustic absorbers, aluminum grille ceilings, large-format acoustic panels, and perforated wood acoustic panels. Compliant with the technical specifications of GB 18580-2001, "Limits of Formaldehyde Emission from Interior Decoration Materials and Their Products," these materials all meet the E1 grade requirements, aligning seamlessly with national environmental standards. Not only do they resonate with the conference's overarching theme, "Designing Ecologies," but they also strike a harmonious balance between acoustic efficacy and aesthetic appeal.

In summary, the World Ecological Design Conference's main hall, equipped with cutting-edge acoustic solutions, has transformed into a sonic masterpiece, perfectly aligning with the ethos of eco-friendly design and creating an immersive and acoustically optimized environment for all attendees.
