While Guangzhou Zengcheng Economic Development Zone Gymnasium may be considered a smaller sports arena, its substantial volume posed an acoustic challenge resulting in prolonged reverberation times. These extended reverberations were detrimental to the venue's sound clarity, causing an auditory haze for the audience and adversely affecting the overall experience and reputation of sporting events. Additionally, athletes could face performance issues due to the compromised acoustic environment.Moreover, the extended reverberation times led to feedback issues within the sound reinforcement systems. The parallel walls of the arena and excessive free sound path lengths generated flutter echoes and multiple reflections, intensifying the impact noise from athletes' movements and even escalating into disruptive noise.
To address these acoustic challenges, we implemented a comprehensive acoustic design solution, incorporating high-quality acoustic materials, including Red Glass Wool Perforated Acoustic Panels and Flat Space Absorbers.
The Red Glass Wool Perforated Acoustic Panels offer inherent advantages over traditional wooden acoustic panels. Leveraging magnesium oxide as the base material, these panels exhibit exceptional moisture resistance, effectively mitigating issues of mold and deformation. Particularly suited for regions with heavy rainfall, they also boast an A2 fire resistance rating, setting them apart from their wooden counterparts.
The Flat Space Absorbers consist of premium glass fiber cotton, custom aluminum frames, and sound-absorbing, dust-resistant fiberglass fabric. These absorbers excel in environmental friendliness, fire resistance, and acoustic performance. With a wide range of color and material options for decorative finishes, they cater to diverse acoustic and aesthetic requirements. They achieve an A2 fire resistance rating and an outstanding E1 environmental performance level.
We are pleased to announce the successful completion of this project, with the acoustic results meeting and even surpassing expectations. The venue now adheres to international acoustic standards, ensuring an exceptional auditory experience for all events held at Guangzhou Zengcheng Economic Development Zone Gymnasium.
