As part of its comprehensive facilities, Guangya Middle School boasts a multi-functional indoor sports arena with a construction area of over 2,000 square meters. This arena seamlessly integrates sports, performances, and recreational fitness activities, featuring two standard basketball courts and a large stage for conferences and entertainment events. The design objective for the arena's full-field mid-frequency reverberation time was set at 1.5 ± 0.1 seconds to meet its functional requirements.
Addressing the characteristics of large spaces with multiple windows for natural lighting in sports venues, the acoustic design placed significant emphasis on reinforcing sound absorption treatment within the original suspended ceiling grid structure. By strategically incorporating high-performance sound-absorbing materials with ultrahigh sound absorption coefficients, the space achieved effective control of reverberation time while alleviating the load-bearing pressure on the original suspended ceiling grid.
Adhering to scientific and rigorous construction installation techniques, the construction team successfully translated the design vision into reality, delivering on their promise to achieve the desired results. During acoustic acceptance testing, the mid-frequency reverberation time (RT) measured at 1.53 seconds, meeting the design requirements. The completed project garnered continuous recognition and high praise from teachers and students alike, demonstrating the successful integration of acoustic design principles and the fulfillment of their needs.
